Core Expectations

Trainer License

Trainers are required to sign a three-year license agreement with the Chalmers Center prior to starting their coursework. The license agreement details the benefits and responsibilities of being a Chalmers Trainer. Descriptions of several of the key expectations are shown below. Training Others

Trainers in either of the MWE Programs are equipped and authorized to train men and women living in low-income communities. Trainers help these community members to start savings groups, and Trainers also train them in business, home, and health topics. Trainers that seek to equip other trainers within their organization should first gain sufficient field experience and then apply to become certified as Lead Trainers. Lead Trainers receive additional training in participatory education and program implementation, and are given access to facilitator’s guides to use in the
training of others.

Reporting

As part of the licensing agreement, the Trainer agrees to provide the Chalmers Center with annual reports that summarize the direct and indirect outcomes from the use of MWE Programs in their work. This reporting helps the Chalmers Center to continually improve its training programs and also helps us communicate to our constituents the impact of our training efforts. Reporting is a requirement of licensure and licenses will be revoked if the Trainer fails to submit annual reports to the Chalmers Center.

Field Visits

Each Trainer agrees to allow the Chalmers Center to make up to one field visit within the first three-year license period. Field visits would be coordinated with the Trainer and carefully planned to be mutually beneficial to the Chalmers Center and the Trainer. The purpose of these visits would be for the Chalmers Center to evaluate the implementation of the MWE Programs, support the Trainer with additional consultation, and document stories for communication to Chalmers
Center constituents.
