Why Chalmers Center Training?
The Chalmers Center has always singularly focused on one question:
"How can we equip the local church to minister to the economic and spiritual needs of the poor?"
This has pushed us to design simple and replicable approaches that are theoretically and practically sound, that do not rely on outside money, and that incorporate evangelism and discipleship in a biblical worldview. Our training gives churches a biblical approach for thinking about HOW to help people without hurting them and the practical strategies they can implement. The strategies we teach have been used successfully by churches and missionaries around the world and reflect current best practices.
By God’s grace alone, we do not believe there is a comparable organization in the world that is so focused on helping the local church in this area of economic development. Furthermore, we believe that the design of our strategies is very rare in terms of keeping the word and deed aspects of ministry in balance and in seeing worldview transformation as fundamental to the development process.
