POSITION: Senior Director, Chalmers Center

TYPE: Full-time

REPORTS TO: Director of the Chalmers Center

LOCATION: Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, Georgia, USA

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Efficiently manages the Chalmers Center’s human and financial resources in order to produce high-quality training products and services to equip the church around the world. Maximizes the impact of the Center by designing and implementing a strategic operations plan.

DUTIES:

  1. Oversee the design and implementation of a strategic plan (personnel, operations, budget, product development and delivery, and marketing) in order to achieve the Center’s short-, medium- and long-range objectives including:

    • Expansion of distance learning courses
    • Rapid recruitment and equipping of a global fraternity of volunteer trainers
    • Integrating biblical worldview messages into a large array of technical curricula
    • Ramping up the number of trainees in order to increase scale of impact
  2. Oversee the hiring and management of all international and domestic personnel, subject to the approval of the Director.
  3. Design and implement the budget, subject to the approval of the Director.
  4. Directly manage the Coordinator of Training, the U.S. Programs Coordinator, the Associate U.S. Programs Coordinator, the International Microenterprise Specialist, the Director of Marketing and Strategic Relations, and the Administrative Assistant.
  5. Represent the Center at meetings when requested by the Director.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master’s degree in management, international development, or related field.
  2. Two years experience in international relief and development work required.
  3. Three years experience supervisory and financial management skills required.
  4. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to attend to details.
  5. Ability to listen well and to work in a team-oriented fashion.
  6. Ability to travel to Third World for several weeks at a time.
  7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  8. Demonstrated vision, initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  9. Discretion, judgment, and ability to deal with confidential matters.
  10. Committed to Jesus Christ and the missions of the Chalmers Center and Covenant College.
