Principles and Practices of U.S. Economic Development Ministry
This course provides a foundation for working with low-income individuals to address many of the challenges that they face. It provides an overview of poverty profiles in the United States. It also identifies and evaluates the primary forms of microeconomic intervention strategies that exist within the church. The primary questions addressed are.
- What are the causes of poverty in the United States?
- How can a church teach financial literacy and help promote asset accumulation through Individual Development Accounts?
- What role can a church play in developing job skills for potential workers?
- What are the different challenges and strategies for helping people find affordable housing?
