Foundations
and Principles of Holistic Ministry
This course lays the foundation for understanding the appropriate goals and strategies for working in low-income communities. We do this by addressing the following key questions in Christian economic development:
- "What causes poverty?" and why this question matters.
- Should development be based upon people's needs and/or their assets?
- Who determines the kind of development that is done and how it is implemented?
- How should the local church respond to poverty?
- What harm can come from doing relief when the situation calls for development? (U.S. Track only)
- What impact does worldview have on poverty and development? (Two-Thirds World Track only)
