Prayer Support Network
Recognizing that kingdom activity is inherently spiritual warfare, the Chalmers Center believes that prayer is central to the success of its mission. The Prayer Support Network consists of people committed to regularly presenting the Chalmers Center’s praises and requests before the throne of God. Members of the network receive monthly prayer cards, giving them an opportunity to pray specifically for the Chalmers Center’s work.
Dear Friends,
Please pray for the Advancing Stewardship, Social Enterprise, Training (ASSET) Mobile Training Center in Bamako, Mali as they have just completed training a new group of church facilitators. Pray that these facilitators would be well received in their communities as they begin to promote new savings and credit associations, and please also lift up Mali in prayeras they are experiencing unrest in the north of the country.
Pray that churches in West Africa would respond to the training of Mobile Training Center Operators and that trainers would be sustained and successful in setting up savings and credit associations. We are praising God that great things are happening in Togo. One new group we learned of is the "Amen Women's Group," which has 16 members who each save 4o cents per week.
Pray for our Business, Home, and Health Trainers as they work on their practicum for licensure.
Please pray for the churches partnering with Asset-Driven Development of Chattanooga (ADDC) to start matched savings programs. We are excited that one of the church partners has just approved three people for Individual Development Accounts and they should begin saving this month. Praise God for this beginning! Pray that more dedicated volunteers will step forward so that more churches can commit to start matched savings programs.
Pray for wisdom for ADDC in how to best serve the Hispanic church with economic development, as this is something we are considering right now.
Also, an inner-city congregation in Philadelphia, PA is kicking off the first stages of their Individual Development Accounts program. Please pray that God would bless their ministry, for lives to be transformed, and for churches and community partners to come together in their city to do holistic ministry. You can read more about this ministry in the next issue of Mandate.
As always, please continue to pray for our staff to be blessed with creativity in writing curriculum and encouraging our partners. Pray for the Spirit's movement in our midst to keep the Kingdom first in our hearts, work, and families. Pray also that God would send us the right staff to fill the Stewardship Development Representative and Controller positions.
